I attended Upper Iowa University from 2009-2013 and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in K-12 Art Education. GPA 3.8 Magna Cum Laude In 2013 I was awarded the Baldwin Memorial Award in Art. This is awarded annually and recognizes the outstanding senior in the Upper Iowa University art program.
Experience
I took a variety of art classes in college, including drawing, figure drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, 3-D foundations, ceramics, screen printing, graphic design, art history, and a senior thesis class. I was a lead writing consultant in my University's writing center, where I tutored college students at every stage of the writing process: from brainstorming ideas to editing final grammar and writing mechanics. I am currently a high school visual arts teacher, and I teach drawing, painting, and art foundations classes. I have taught students from grades K-12, and I understand how to differentiate my instruction to accommodate all learners and ensure everyone has the opportunity for success.
